Imagine a beautiful glacial lake high up on the Himalayas. Sounds serene doesn't it. Now imagine every time the ice melts, a plethora of skeletons pop up to say Hi. Yikes! It's the stuff of nightmares.

This is exactly what happens in the two meter deep Roopkund lake in the Himalayas, which is why it has been dubbed the Skeleton Lake. The skeletons are believed to be, remains of people killed in a sudden violent hailstorm in the ninth century AD, and scientists have been able to figure out an astonishing amount of details about the people and the accident.
