We sometimes think of parenting techniques as if some are better than others, but we forget how much the merits and effectiveness of these techniques depend on the personality of the adults and children involved.
I was excited about reading this book, because Tanu is a blogger, whose posts I have been reading since my earliest blogging days in 2015. Tanu's blogs always stood out in the mass of parenting blog posts on the mycity4kids website not only because of a her progressive outlook and knack for zeroing in on important parenting issues, but also because of her writing style. Her posts are a pleasure to read, because the writing flows easily as she escorts you though a spectrum of emotions without getting dramatic. She has strong opinions and a dry wit tempered by sensitivity and empathy.
The other day, when my two daughters were on the swings in the society play area, a lady came up to me and asked if they are twins. “No!” I exclaimed surprised. Why would anyone think that? “They are sisters.” I explained. “This one is 2 and a half and the other is 5.”
This is not a disturbing story about the frightening contents of a grave that escaped it's confines, or about any native American rituals. Actually this is about my 18 month old baby and her indomitable spirit.
I often write about the interactions between my two little ones. So far the younger one had been eager to accept help fom the older one and watch in awe as the older one does things that she her self can't yet do.
When I was pregnant with my second child, a few mothers told me that, the older one would get very jealous at the arrival of the new baby. We are a nuclear family. So at that time it was just papa, me and our only daughter.
