Date Plum Jam Recipe


This jam is easy to make, exotic, and delicious. It tastes particularly good, spread atop a crisp, buttered, toast. It is perfect for kids and their moms. Made with dates, plums, and no sugar at all, it is nutritious and healthy too.


  • 8 seedless black dates

  • 3 plums

  • 1 tea spoon cornstarch

  • 1 cup water


  • Chop the plums into big pieces, and remove the seeds.

  • Put dates, chopped plums, and a cup of water to boil.

  • When water boils, simmer and stir with wooden spoon, pressing on the pieces of dates and plums

  • In a few minutes, the mixture should have a pulpy consistency with no large chunks

  • Mix the corn starch with some water to make a milky white liquid and add to the pulpy mixture

  • Bring the mixture to a boil, stirring continuously, and simmer for another minute

The date plum jam is ready. Put it in a glass jar and eat it quickly.

Variation: You can add some tea leaves for flavour when you put the dates and plums to boil.
