Making the time for reflections and finding the courage to face them.

Reflections

The mirror of truth

who dares look into,

seeks to know,

to learn and grow.

A blemishless face,

is a picture of innocence,

a beauty that cannot,

should not last.

A blemish appears,

in teenage years,

then many more,

rapidly follow.

Hold the mirror up.

Look now and peer.

Don’t cover it up,

in a make-up veneer.

Face it, study it,

feel and endure,

so innocence adapts

to a world impure.

The scars, they fade

from the worldly face

once ugliness is tackled

with wisdom and grace.

The lessons remain, an invisible stain,

guiding through future perilous terrain.

The biggest bumps have a solution,

determined through self-reflection.
