Weddings, the tension, the drama, the compromises and how I enjoyed it all

Whatever their age may be, most women are anxious as they step through the doors of a gynaecologists office for the first time. For some of us, a host of questions run through our minds. Others prefer not to think about it. Some are too embarrassed to ask the questions that plague them.

Sweat trickled down her face and spine. The sun was beating down. It had been so pleasant when they had left for the walk, but the sun had creeped up on them quickly.

Here are two poems I wrote for mother's day

Is love really blind? Or are there signs we read and follow at least at a subconscious level?

It all began one summer afternoon. I was barely 13 and suffering from an upset stomach. My grandmother introduced us. She said I'd feel better. And indeed I did. Since that day, it has been an awesome 20 years, together, for us.

When is the right ime to talk to your kids about periods? How does one broach such an uncomfortable subject? This post is about how I talked to my daughter about periods, and why I believe we should be open about it.

I know that sounds odd but think about it. If you want to adhere to a healthy lifestyle in the long term, it must be convenient to implement. Otherwise, sooner or later, you will abandon it.

I have been through 2 pregnancies and I have to say that, for me, morning sickness was the most unpleasant part of it all. And this after going through labour twice and even giving birth without an epidural. As painful as labour and it's climax is, it usually lasts, at most for 24 hours. It is a short term problem.

Why do we treat our fellow women this way? Why is it so important that, if our legs are visible, they must also be bald? Why not let everyone make their choices and leave judgement and embarrassment out of it?

Many of us go for flag hoisting on Republic and Independence day and feel patriotic. We feel patriotic when we hear the national anthem and we stand up. We get angry when someone criticizes our country and feel a surge of patriotism. This is all good, but hardly enough.

Traditionally there have been activities and interests, that are associated with a specific gender. For example sewing, cooking, embroidery, were considered feminine activities, while carpentry, sports, battle and engineering were considered masculine activities.
